Homemade Hummus

Nothing is tastier than dipping bread or pita chips into a bowl of fresh hummus! And so much more than just being tasty, hummus is also packed with good-for-you vitamins! Hummus is high in vitamins C, B6 and folate. It is also a good source of protein, fiber, iron, and potassium.

Check the recipe below for an easy hummus spread you can use with pita chips, vegetables or your next sandwich.

Stuff

  • 1 15-ounce can chickpeas, rinsed
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1⁄4 cup olive oil, plus more for serving
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons tahini (sesame seed paste; optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

 

Steps

In a blender or food processor, combine all  ingredients and blend until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil and serve.
